I saw a cute little girl in her late teens gawk at me as I entered the coffee shop. Thought my new weirdo looks was doing the trick. I looked straight and walked like the heroes in bond films and took the corner spot in the glass walled coffee shop from which I had panoramic view of both the worlds, outside and inside. Though the chair was not so comfy it dint bother me much, writing the philosophical thought that occurred at the office toilet was my plan. I took the pen and paper and wrote the title for the article and then looked up and slowly glanced the setting, again our eyes met ;-). I called the waiter and placed my order and started to concentrate on my work.
As I was getting lost in my thoughts a shadow cover up the half ink filled white sheet, I look up to see this teenager standing with a glossy newsletter, I said to her “sit” she dint care a bit she showed me the flashy news paper and started her well rehearsed dialogue like the preset voice heard while calling Indian Railways enquiry. After she finished her ninety seconds marketing monologue, very politely I said “I’m sorry, not interested” with a pleasant smile she turned back and went to her place. Women are good in camouflaging their thoughts with their deceptive faces.
Sipping coffee I was drowning on thoughts of naphthalene balls and its relation to life. I got three lovely points (I will reveal in my upcoming article “Life is like Naphthalene Balls”) which made me get so excited that I lost the mood to squeeze my brains any further. Also the stagnant water on the concrete floor outside getting rippled by the consistent drizzle did not let me think philosophical but made me romantic. {Do you see the relation between this scene outside and our thinking pattern? (It is more philosophical than romantic this I realized while writing)}.
I had decided not to leave the cafe without filling the paper; I turned the other side and started to write my encounter with this part time marketing teen while my thoughts lingered around the Indian woman two generations behind. I completed with the question, how ethics it is to hire teens for selling products?
Then I got a crazy idea, I wanted to read it for some one…
You guessed it right!
I still don’t understand how I got the guts to go to that kid, introduce my self and read what I wrote.
